The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is assisting Turkey through a Technical Cooperation (TC) project entitled “Improving Expertise on the Management of the TAEK Proton Accelerator Facility (TAEK-PAF) and Radiopharmaceutical Production (TUR/6/011)”. Within the scope of the TC project, a training course has been organized, aiming to train the personnel of the Radiological Health and Safety Department of TAEA on radiation safety of cyclotron and radiopharmaceuticals production facilities, addressing to licensing and inspection. IAEA provided two experts, Dr. Bhaskar Mukherjee and Dr. Jožef Čomor, for delivering lectures on this subject. The training course entitled “IAEA National Training Course on Radiation Safety of Cyclotron and Radiopharmaceuticals Production Facility” was held on 2−6 December 2013 in PAF (Ankara). In addition to lectures and discussions, hands-on training was also given, highlighting the most critical aspects of radiation protection and monitoring in PAF.
